Get Ready for Groundhog Day Predictions!

Hey there, young readers! Do you have any plans for this Sunday? Well, you might want to make some, because it’s Groundhog Day! And guess what? Sam, the famous groundhog at the Shanak Wildlife Park, is all set to make his prediction this year. Exciting stuff, right?

Past Predictions and Fun Facts

Let’s take a trip down memory lane and look at some past predictions made by Sam. One of my favorites is the “reluctant” prediction where a gloved hand gently nudged him out. Classic Sam!

Remember, Sam will be accompanied by Nova Scotia’s Minister of Natural Resources on Sunday at the Wildlife Park. The event kicks off at 7:45 a.m. and will be live-streamed on the Shanak Wildlife Park page. If you can’t make it in person, you can still catch all the action!

Myth Buster: Shadow or No Shadow?

According to folklore, if the groundhog sees his shadow, we’re in for six more weeks of winter. But if there’s no shadow, get ready for an early spring. What will it be this year? Let’s wait and see!

Also, did you know that Sunday is also World Wetlands Day? There will be activities planned at the park until 3 p.m. Fun for everyone!

But wait, there’s more excitement coming your way! Lucy the Lobster will be making her prediction at 8:00 a.m. at the Cape Sable Island Causeway. Officials say she’s been 100% accurate so far. Impressive, right?

So, get ready for a fun-filled day of predictions and festivities. Who knows, you might witness history in the making!

Stay tuned for all the updates and enjoy the magic of Groundhog Day and World Wetlands Day. It’s going to be a day to remember!
