Why I Chose to Launch My Campaign in Barry

Hey there, young readers! Today, I want to share with you why I decided to kick off my campaign right here in Barry, a traditional blue wall area. It’s a beautiful place with wonderful people, but did you know that there are some significant issues that need attention?

The Health Care Challenge

There are 55,000 people in Barry who don’t have access to a family doctor. That’s a huge number! And 7,000 families rely on the food bank. There’s also a homelessness issue, mental health care struggles, and an addiction crisis that aren’t being properly addressed by the province.

I teamed up with Dr. Rose Zakarias, a family doctor in Barry and former president of the OM, to shine a spotlight on these important issues. It’s shocking to think that two and a half million Ontarians don’t have a family doctor!

An Unnecessary Election

Instead of tackling these problems head-on, our current leader has decided to call for an unnecessary election 17 months early. This move wastes a whopping $175 million that could have provided every single person in Barry with a family doctor!

We need to demand better leadership that prioritizes health care for all. That’s why I’m here, fighting for a brighter future for Barry and all of Ontario.

The MSCA Hospital Redevelopment

Another critical issue is the proposed redevelopment of the MSCA Hospital, which has sparked controversy in the community. Many doctors have expressed concerns about the plan and its potential costs.

We need a government that listens to the experts and prioritizes the well-being of our communities. It’s time for real solutions that address the root causes of our health care challenges.

A Plan for the Future

I have a plan to ensure that everyone in Ontario has access to a family doctor, reduce taxes for small businesses and individuals, and build more homes for our growing population. Let’s work together to create a brighter future for all!

So, young readers, let’s stand up for what’s right and demand better for our communities. Together, we can make a difference and build a healthier, happier future for all of us. Are you ready to join me on this journey?

Let’s make our voices heard and create positive change for Barry and beyond. Thank you for your time and support!
