The Frantic Search for Survivors at the Crash Site
An Unfolding Tragedy
I’m still looking at this video, and I’m seeing there are choppers above with their lights on the water, doing everything they can to get everybody out who is still alive. This is a frantic search because as we get further into the night, the temperature is dropping, below 40°. It’s chilly out here, and you can only feel for those who may have survived this terrible crash.
A Massive Response
The response here has been massive. Fire trucks, police, swiftwater rescue boats, dive teams – all gearing up to help. The airport worker who witnessed the crash mentioned hearing the chopper hovering around for minutes before the collision happened, resulting in a fireball descending towards the water on the south end. The airport is completely shut off, with only First Responders and press members present.
It’s a frantic search for any possible survivors amidst the sea of red lights in the distance. The airport is set to be closed until at least Friday at 5:00 a.m., marking one of the worst aviation disasters since 2009.
The situation is grave, but the unity and effort put forth by the rescue teams is immense.
Remember that in times of crisis, every little act of kindness and support counts. Whether it’s donating to relief efforts, sending positive thoughts, or being there for someone in need, your actions can make a difference.
