Hey there, dear reader!
I have a little secret to share with you today, something that I’ve never told anyone before. Back in early 2024, I was this close to giving up on YouTube. I was putting in so much effort, but I just wasn’t seeing the results I wanted. It was frustrating, to say the least. But then, something incredible happened in December 2024 – I hit 100,000 subscribers. And you wanna know what kept me going during those tough times? A book I stumbled upon in a bookstore.
Let me tell you about this book that changed everything for me. It’s called “The Dip” by Seth Godin. This little gem talks about something called…well, the dip. And here’s the thing – the dip is not your enemy, it’s your best friend. Sounds crazy, right? But trust me, it’s true.
When you start something new, like a business, a side hustle, a hobby, or even a job, it’s like riding a rollercoaster of emotions. You’re pumped up at the beginning, but then you hit a slump where things just aren’t going your way. That’s the dip, my friend. It’s where most people give up. But here’s the thing – if you push through the dip, you’re on the right track to success.
Seth Godin talks about three big problems people face when dealing with the dip. One – not sticking with the right thing long enough. Two – sticking with the wrong thing for too long. And three – trying to do everything at once. So, how do you know when to push through and when to quit?
Here’s the deal – the dip is like an audition for the real thing. It’s preparing you for what’s to come. Like me, back in 2021, I wasn’t ready to have 10,000 subscribers on YouTube. I had to put in the work, learn new skills, and grow. And guess what? It paid off.
Here’s the takeaway – the dip is your shortcut to success. It’s weeding out the quitters and showing who’s truly committed to their goals. Winners quit, but they quit the right stuff at the right time. And that’s the key to making it through the dip.
So, how do you navigate the dip and come out stronger on the other side? Celebrate every small win, surround yourself with like-minded people, and remember – nobody can take your skills away from you. And most importantly, follow your deep calling, experiment, but know when to make a decision.
In the end, it’s all about strategic exploration of your passions and committing to what truly resonates with you. Because, my friend, the results are inevitable if you stay focused and keep pushing through the dip.
