Hey, so listen up. You know how sometimes we feel like we gotta do things for others? Well, I had this moment where I realized, hey, I should do stuff for myself too. Like, just be me, you know?

I remember back when I was a kid, all I cared about was playing and having fun. No worries, no stress. Then I got into skateboarding. I thought I was cool, practicing hard every day. But then I saw these super good skaters who made me feel like I wasn’t good enough.

Fast forward to a few months ago, my girlfriend suggested we run a half marathon. Me, waking up at 7 a.m. to run uphill? Nope, not me. But we trained for months, and on the race day, she said we had to finish in 1 hour and 40 minutes. That’s crazy fast.

But you know what? We did it. And it hit me, I did this for me, not for anyone else. It’s like what Casey Neistat said, “perfect is almost always the enemy of good.” We always compare ourselves to others, but it just holds us back.

Just like Steve Jobs, Tyler the Creator, and Wes Anderson, who do things unconventionally, we gotta stop comparing and start doing. Don’t be afraid to try new things, even if it means failing. Be different, be bold.

And hey, if you’re still reading this, you’re awesome. Let me know what you’re trying and failing at. Keep dreaming big, friends. You got this. See you in the next one!
